ISLAMABAD LIE NAILED AGAIN - New calls show Dawood in Pak
Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's younger brother Anees Ibrahim recently threatened a builder in the city using his Pakistan-registered cellphone number, an act that again nails Pakistan’s lie that the wanted gangster is not in that country. The builder, who is executing a project in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, lodged a complaint that one Salim Chiplun alias Sikander had been calling and threatening him.
Sikander had asked the builder to contact Anees immediately, but the builder did not do so and Sikander again called him on Wednesday night and made an extortion demand of Rs 5 crore. The police found that Sikander’s number and the number the builder was asked to call were both registered in Pakistan and that Sikander has been an aide of Anees’s since the 1990s. The city crime branch gave round-the-clock protection to the builder. Intelligence sources said all the goingson provided yet another proof that global terrorist Dawood and his family is in Pakistan, negating the recently planted reports that Dawood had moved to the troubled Afghan border.

City builder gets hreat calls from Anees Ibrahim's aide
After a decade-long lull, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's younger brother Anees Ibrahim has reportedly resurfaced on Mumbai's crime scene, expressing interest in the real estate sector. His confidant Salim Chiplun alias Sikander allegedly called up a builder recently and asked him to contact Anees.Sources said the builder, who is also executing a project in Kharghar, panicked when the caller identified himself as a D-gang man and told him to call Anees. When the builder did not complay after several calls, the caller, who gave his name as Sikander, gave a 10-day ultimatum to call up the number, which he said was of Anees. The scared builder lodged a complaint with the city crime branch.
In his complaint, the builder stated he had no clue why any gangster would want to speak to him. While the builder has been given protection by the crime branch, its anti-extortion cell identified the caller as Sikander during investigations. Police said the number from which Sikander called, and the other number given to the builder, were both registered in Karachi and are suspected to be of Anees Ibrahim. “I can't comment on it but we are taking steps to ensure the builder's safety ,“ said an official. After the deportation of Anees's friend Abu Salem from Portugal in 2000, it was Sikander who replaced him in the gangster's circle. There are also unconfirmed reports that his daughter is married to Anees's son. Sources said though Sikander randomly calls builders and other entrepreneurs in his own capacity , the fact that he left a message on behalf of Anees is a cause for concern. A crime branch official said Anees has never called anyone besides a few cronies in the last decade. Dawood and his brothers stopped directly threatening people after the killing of music baron Gulshan Kumar by the Abu Salem faction in 1997. There were differences between Anees and Dawood, particularly over Kumar's killing, which Dawood was reportedly not keen on. Earlier, Anees extorted money from builders, hoteliers and Bollywood actors. During 2003-05, Anees, while mediating in a dispute involving a city-based gutka baron and his partner, compelled the baron to set up a gutka manufacturing unit in Karachi. “Almost all gangs except Ravi Pujari and Guru Satam have graduated from the extortion business into either drugs or the real estate and hotel industry ,“ said a police officer.
